Moses Smith began his singing career in the late fifties at age 13 when he entered a Georgie Woods talent show at the Uptown Theatre in Philadelphia His first record, "Girl Across The Street," released on Dionn in the spring of 1968, has remained popular with Northern Soul fans in England. The unreleased, "Try My Love," was from these same sessions and should receive the same attention with its uptempo soulful delivery. In 1969, he recorded one final disc on Cotillion before vanishing into Northern Soul history.
